Child Care Providers' Grief
Child care providers may have many unique and powerful feelings after experiencing the death of an infant in their care, including:
- Guilt
- Distrust of their ability to care for children
- Crying spells or depression
- Loss of sleep or appetite
- Over-protectiveness or impatience with children
- Anger, even with the infant who died
- Fear that it will happen again
